It is recommended that anyone who operates a forklift should undergo a medical assessment. However, it is not legally required.
It is recommended that employees have a forklift medical every 5 years and yearly from the age of 65.
It consists of an examination similar to the D4 medical, but with additional assessments for upper limbs, hearing (forced whisper test) and a urine test.
Upon passing, you will be issued a certificate of fitness with the assurance that you meet DVLA group 2 standards when operating a forklift
